nCage Therapeutics Joins the World Vaccine Congress Europe and Continued Progress on a First-In-Class Universal Flu Vaccine

Back to news

Krakow, Poland – November 5, 2026 – nCage Therapeutics joined the World Vaccine Congress Europe, held October 19–21, 2026 at the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam, Netherlands. A key area of focus at this year's congress was the continued need to explore novel new platform technologies that can advance vaccine development. nCage platform received considerable interest given their programmable protein scaffolds provide for the development of next generation synthetic VLP vaccines and protein drug conjugates (PDCs).

nCage also had the opportunity to share progress in the pre-clinical development of its first-in-class Universal Flu vaccine. The program is being carried out in collaboration with the University of Oxford UK, under an exclusive license to develop Oxford epitope technology, and combines nCage's proprietary antigen design with the nCage TRAP-cage platform to deliver broad and durable protection against influenza.

Recent data on seasonal influenza vaccines demonstrate limited efficacy and short-lived protection, and currently available products must be reformulated every year. An innovative vaccine that protects against diverse flu strains over multiple seasons would address a major unmet clinical need.

John Bason, CEO of nCage, said: “A universal flu vaccine that protects across strains and seasons will remove the need for annual reformulation and provides patients an opportunity to be vaccinated in a single injection that provides multi-year coverage. Our collaboration with Oxford brings together their antigen design and our TRAP-cage platform, and we are extremely encouraged by the early pre-clinical results.”

About nCage Therapeutics

nCage Therapeutics is a biopharmaceutical company developing its innovative synthetic VLP platform technology to develop vaccines against infectious diseases and next generation drug delivery systems. nCage's VLP platform utilizes a universal hook system to display antigens or biological targeting moieties on the exterior of a protein scaffold and load a peptide antigen or a drug payload on the interior of the VLP. Vaccines developed using the platform induce broad, robust, and durable protection against the specific viruses targeted. The drug delivery application of the platform is designed to carry therapeutic payloads and release them in a controlled manner. nCage's two lead vaccine program candidates target Lyme Disease, where there is no approved vaccine available, and a revolutionary Universal Flu vaccine which addresses the significant unmet needs and limitations of current flu technologies. nCage Therapeutics was founded in 2020 to advance the breakthrough synthetic VLP technology developed in the Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology (MCB) of Jagiellonian University in Krakow. nCage is located in Krakow, Poland and Durham, United Kingdom.
